Internet Restored!

My home phone and internet went out yesterday. To say I was lost is an understatement. It's amazing how many things I do online. I track all my calories and exercise online. I look for recipes and make them, all found online. I pay all my bills online. I look anything up I need to look up online. I play games and socialize online.

I went to my Alanon meeting and grocery shopping in the morning. After unloading the groceries and fixing lunch I logged on to my computer..... nothing.....

Yesterday I spent hours trying to install a game on my computer with no luck. I fixed dinner with a recipe from a *gasp* cookbook in the kitchen and called the phone company with my cell phone to report the outage. I calculated all my calories manually which was a big pain in the neck.. Tee and I played Guitar Hero World Tour all evening and then watched a movie.

This morning my cell phone completely broke and I had no contact with the outside world.. Talk about feeling disconnected!!

Now I am back online, checked my email, checked my comments here and added all my food intake from yesterday into sparkpeople. I gotta say I grossly underestimated the amount of calories I took in yesterday!

I can safely say that for me, not having the internet causes me to overeat!! lol

Anyway, I'm back online and feeling much less stressed out.

How is your Thursday??

Isn't it amazing how much we rely on computers, then when they're down our hands are tied. Being without both computer AND phone service would drive me insane. ACK. lol. Glad you're up and running again. Hugs.

Glad you are back. I've been having weird things happen w/the computer too -- from a virus eating my old hard-drive, to JS crashing and taking all my online journal files, to LivePERSON suddenly removing my virtual office and only re-posting it after a huge effort on my part, to iTunes losing all the music I bought from them . . . (gasp).

These are the times that make us feel grateful for when things DO work as they're supposed to!

{Sorry about your cell phone. That rots.}

I think the universe was trying to balance something in my life. I did make a resolution to spend less time online. Kind of made me look at my time on here :)

It just plain sucks not having the internet, worse than not having JS, I think.

You know what's odd? I actually eat MORE if I'm sitting online. It's why I don't spend that much time sitting here, because I eventually get bored or do a zombie eat while I'm reading things. It's awful, really.

I don't have your EMail, so I hafta ask this here. I tried the sparkpeople.com thing 3 separate times. Each time it said I was registered, but when I try to get back into the website, it wants me to register again. What am I doing wrong?

Xanadu: Email me at
greeneyes67@gmail.com. I'm not sure what is going on there Does it say you are logged in when you log in? I haven't had one issue with them. I'll look around and see if there are any technical issues people have had. Email me so I have your address ok?

Isn't it crazy how much we do online? I too feel lost without it.

I think I might have to check out Sparkpeople for the calorie thing, that sounds really neat, and would save a lot of time and stress! ;-)

Love ya!

I do lots online too but I never get online at home. If fact we were without internet at home for a month before I realized I needed to renew our subscription (they don't do paper bills, only thru email) which shows how often I get online or read my emails at home.

I'm at sparkpeople too. Been there since early 07. I love the nutrition counter and how you can add your own stuff on there... Do you blog there too?

I lost my DSL once for a weekend, and I didn't have enough dial up hours to make it worthwhile. It was hell, and that was before I became REALLY addicted to the internet :-)

My internet was down for almost two days and I drove around the neighborhood looking for signals on my laptop :__)
